dear husbands-at-large,

i know that formal holidays
can strike fear in your heart
at the overwhelming nature
of the whole ‘expectation vs. reality’ thing,
so here are some ideas
that are sure to be a ‘win’:

1. loving the Lord and
loving your family;

no additional gift required.
ever.

that is the Big One
that trumps all others.

now, since you’re giving her gift #1,
you’re all set.

but if you want to just put that
extra icing on the cake…

2. ‘you+me’ print at village .
cocoa or thistle,
it’s a win-win.

3. vera wang perfume .
(pop into sephora)

4. personalized stationery .
of course.

5. almost anything from cb2 .
(cory’s been there – it’s somewhere
in soho, next to the new muji store)

6. make a youtube video of yourself
singing ‘wild thing’
dedicated to her
(note: be sure to have a paper bag handy
as she just might hyperventilate at the sight
of you gyrating like that
in that skimpy costume.
better safe than sorry.)

7. caldrea home fragrance
lavender pine scent

(2nd floor of gracious home,
right next to the register)
kathleen c. gave this to us as a
housewarming a few years ago
and i love it so much i’m
tempted to spritz it on my wrists
if it wouldn’t drive away my friends.
