sing with me
June 3 2008
1. ‘there is a redeemer’ at
leaders@7 last night,
with laura’s angelic piano and
our pausing and then
repeating the last phrase,
‘and leaving His Spirit
til the work on earth
is done.’
our only comfort;
his spirit remains +
moves.
2. chiming in with henry’s song
this evening,
‘make me a servant,
humble + meek,
Lord, may i lift up
those who are weak.
and may the prayer
of my heart always be,
make me a servant,
make me a servant,
make me a servant today.’
i want that to be my prayer everyday.
more often than not,
it’s self-pity’s theme song,
‘why do i have to serve?!@!’
3. ‘whate’er my god ordains is right’
playing on our cd player as cory
works on work
beside me
and
i draw wedding goodies.*
‘whate’er my god ordains is right,
he never will deceive me
he leads me by the proper path,
i know he will not leave me
i take, content, what he hath sent
his hand can turn my griefs away
and patiently i wait his day.’
*partyenvy strikes again:
these lucky two are
getting married @
the soho grand.
[insert slow whistle +
a longing sparkle in my eyes
